Selecting the proper life jacket for the activity and making life jackets available to borrow for free was presented by Sea Tow Foundation and the US Coast Guard at US Sailing’s Leadership Forum that took place February 4-6 on Mission Bay in San Diego.
Ed Huntsman, pictured, Recreational Boating Safety Eighth District US Coast Guard Program Manager, talked about selecting a life jacket and the difficulties of putting a life jacket after a person is already in the water.
Michael Wesolowski, Executive Director of Sea Tow Foundation, talked about the basics of Sea Tow Foundation’s Life Jacket Loaner Program and examples of how people are using it.
