Behind the Scenes: Building Life Jacket Loaner Stands for Grant Recipients!

Sea Tow Foundation volunteers are busy building and packing Life Jacket Loaner Station Stands to send grant recipients all over the United States and territories.

.
“Building the stands is hard work, but worth it because they help everybody all around the country be safe when they are boating” says Miles, a twelve year old volunteer who was participating as part of his Bar Mitzvah project, from Southold, New York where the stands are built and shipped from.

The Life Jacket Loaner Stands are shipped to grant recipients of the Life Jacket Loaner Program funded by a grant Sea Tow Foundation has receives from the Sport Fish Restoration & Boating Trust Fund, administered by the U.S. Coast Guard to expand our Life Jacket Loaner Program to non-profit organizations and boating agencies across the country. Since 2008, the Sea Tow Foundation has provided over 35,000 life jackets to boaters and water enthusiasts in our Life Jacket Loaner Program; click this link for more information.

The Heavy-Duty Life Jacket Loaner Stand in the photos is the latest design and is for both indoor and outdoor use and accommodates at least 8 life jackets ranging in size from infant to adult, but additional life jackets can be added to each arm depending on their sizes. The stand consumes a minimum amount of space and is often used at boat ramps, marinas, and parks.
